EPL: 'Thank you for saving us again' - Klopp tells Liverpool star after 3-1 win over Palace

Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp, has revealed what he told 'world-class' goalkeeper, Alisson Becker after Liverpool's 3-1 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Liverpool closed the gap on Premier League leaders Manchester City to nine points with a 3-1 win over Palace.

First-half goals from Virgil van Dijk and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain gave Liverpool the comfortable lead in the first half.

But Odsonne Edouard fired one back for the home side after half-time and Patrick Vieira's side pushed for an equaliser before Liverpool were awarded a controversial penalty.

Alisson made a number of saves to keep Liverpool in control of the game and Klopp said he thanked his number one afterwards.

"I said to him just now, 'thank you for saving our backside again'. He said, 'that's my job', Of course it is very helpful to have a world-class goalkeeper at the back!"

Manchester City dropped two points at Southampton on Saturday and are now nine points above Liverpool but Klopp feels the distance is very far to talk about.

According to the German, Liverpool will try to win their Premier League matches.
