Bayern Munich reveal why they won't sign Haaland

Bayern Munich President, Herbert Hainer has insisted they won't bid for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, because they have Robert Lewandowski.

Hainer, speaking with Sport 1, said the Bundesliga champions will not sign Haaland "because we have Robert Lewandowski".

Lewandowski, who turns 34 next August, has a contract at the Allianz Arena until 2023, but the club wants him to finish his career with them.

Haaland, 21, is under contract at Dortmund until 2024, but he could leave in 2022 when a 80 million euros release clause becomes active.

The Norwegian striker has scored 76 times in 75 games for Dortmund since January 2020 and is regarded as one of the hottest properties in European football.

"We are so happy to have him because he is an absolute guarantee of goals - the world's best striker," Hainer said.

"I would be happy if he finished his career with us."
