EPL: Salah finally equals Jamie Vardy's record

Liverpool ace, Mohamed Salah has finally equalled Leicester City striker Jamie Verdy's Premier League record after scoring a goal in his side's 3-1 victory over Newcastle United on Thursday.

Salah scored his 15th Premier League goal of the season as Liverpool defeated Newcastle at Anfield.

His contribution means he has either scored or assisted a goal in 15 consecutive league appearances, equaling Vardy's record of 15 games.

Vardy achieved the feat between August and December 2015.

After a 1-1 draw in 21 minutes during the encounter, Salah gave Jurgen Klopp's side a 2-1 lead in the 25 minutes before Trent Alexander-Arnold scored a late goal to seal the victory for Liverpool.

Salah will now hope to surpass Vardy's record when Liverpool tackle Tottenham on Sunday in their next Premier League fixture.

Meanwhile, Salah's contribution of 15 goals and nine assists in 17 league appearances this season puts him behind Newcastle legend Alan Shearer who is the only player in Premier League history to have had more goal involvements before Christmas in a single campaign (16 goals and nine assists in the 1994-95 season).
