UCL: You need to apologise to Ronaldo - Agbonlahor tells Man United fans

Former Premier League star, Gabriel Agbonlahor has insisted that Manchester United supporters must apologise to Cristiano Ronaldo.

Agbonlahor maintained that Ronaldo is 'not the problem' of United but their saviour and deserves some respect.

Ronaldo bailed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side again with two goals in their draw against Atalanta in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Questions have been asked about Ronaldo's work rate off the ball, but the Portugal captain has always responded to his critics by helping the club out of trouble.

Before Tuesday's Champions League clash, Portugal captain provided a goal and an assist in the Red Devils' 3-0 away win to Spurs at the weekend.

And Agbonlahor, ex-Aston Villa captain said on talkSPORT Breakfast: "Whenever they need a goal, he's there, isn't he?

"Probably a lot of people need to apologise really about the way they spoke about Ronaldo that he's going to be the problem.

"He's the one saving them, he's not the problem, he's the one getting them results, keeping them in the Champions League, keeping them in the race for the top four."

Manchester United's next outing is against fierce Premier League rivals and city neighbours, Manchester City at Old Trafford on Saturday.
