EPL: Jurgen Klopp criticises Man City, Man United's move for Cristiano Ronaldo

Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp has frowned at the prospect of the Manchester clubs trying to sign 36-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus.

Juventus boss, Massimiliano Allegri had on Friday confirmed that Ronaldo had informed him of his intention to leave Juventus.

And video clips show the Portugal international leaving Turin already as Manchester United now become a possible destination.

Before Manchester resurfaced in the picture, it was understood Manchester City were putting the finishing touches on a deal for the iconic attacker and Klopp said he has been keeping tabs on the speculation just as the rest of the footballing world has in recent days.

Addressing the press ahead of Liverpool clash with Chelsea on Saturday, Klopp said, "I watched that like a football supporter actually. I have no more knowledge about it - probably you have much more knowledge about whether it'll happen or not,' he added.

"But again, it's not about me to judge that or whatever. It's just if other clubs can do things like this, it's obviously not a business for the future. In three or four years, we will have the benefit of that, it's for now and immediately.

"If that happens, that's how some clubs are working and that's obviously absolutely fine. But there must be different ways. There must be teams for two or three years later.

"You need success. It's really nice if you can win trophies, it's great, but it's not even with the best squad in the world, it's not every year possible.

"And if that's not possible, you still need to make sure you develop as a team, as a club, and that's what we do. Anything else and all the rest is really not in our hands and we watch it like all of you. We will see what happens."
