Chelsea on Wednesday confirmed that the club's new signing, Romelu Lukaku, will wear the number 9 shirt at the club.
Chelsea disclosed this in a statement via their website ahead of their Premier League clash with Arsenal this weekend.
Lukaku took the squad number following the departure of Tammy Abraham from Chelsea.
Abraham officially joined AS Roma from Chelsea on Tuesday.
The statement read, "Romelu Lukaku will wear the number nine shirt for Chelsea this season.
"The striker takes the vacant squad number following Tammy Abraham's departure to Roma yesterday, with Lukaku continuing with the same shirt number that served him so well at Inter Milan last season.
"The Belgian took part in his first official training session with his new Chelsea team-mates at Cobham yesterday, after completing a short spell in isolation following the finalisation of his transfer."
