Champions League: UEFA releases team of the season

UEFA on Monday released the Champions League team of the 2019/20 season in a post on its official website following the conclusion of the Europe top-flight league tournament on Sunday night.

Recall that Bayern Munich defeated Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in the Champions League final in Lisbon, Portugal to lift their sixth Champions League trophy, thanks to Kingsley Coman's second-half header goal.

UEFA included Bayern Munich striker, Robert Lewandowski, in the Champions League team of this year.

Lewandowski was the top goal scorer of this year's Champions League with 15 goals.

Lewandowski made the list, alongside Borussia Dortmund's Erling Braut Haaland, who scored 10 goals in the competition.

Below is the UEFA Champions League team of the 2019/20 season:

Goalkeeper: Manuel Neuer (Bayern).

Defenders: Joshua Kimmich (Bayern), Marquinhos (PSG), Presnel Kimpembe (PSG), Juan Bernat (PSG).

Midfielders: Serge Gnabry (Bayern), Ángel Di María (Paris), Marcel Sabitzer (Leipzig), Raheem Sterling (Manchester City).

Forwards: Erling Braut Haaland (Dortmund), Robert Lewandowski (Bayern)
