Manchester United forward Jesse Lingard seems to have been reduced to nothing by a fan who placed a bet on the player not to score or assist in the Premier League this season.

The supporter, named Antony Johnson staked £3.30 on the England international to fire blanks all through the campaign.

With two more games left for the Red Devils this campaign, Johnson's prediction will likely be realised as it is unsure if the player would be handed a starting berth in those fixtures.

Sport Bible reveals that the punter will win a sum of £135.30 should the 27-year-old fail to find the back of the net against West Ham United or Leicester City in a unique but straightforward bet.

Lingard considered himself one of the best number 10s in Europe but the attacker has hit a downward trend in recent times.

The former Leicester City star spent a year without goal domestically before breaking the deadlock in a 6-0 thrashing over Tranmere Rovers in the FA Cup in January.

He was also on the scores sheet against Astana and assisted another goal against Club Brugge in the Europa League.

Meanwhile, Mino Riola is already looking for another club for the midfielder with both Roma and Atletico Madrid interested. The forward's contract at Manchester United expires in the summer of 2021.
