Real Madrid set to splash £71m on top star who won Premier League title with 2 different clubs

Real Madrid have reportedly concluded plans to make a move for £71 million rated Chelsea star N'golo Kante this summer.

The two-time Premier League winner appears to have fallen out of favour with the Blues boss Frank Lampard who is building a new team at the club.

Kante has made just 22 appearances in all competitions so far this season with three goals credited to his name.

And Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane is hoping to take advantage of the Frenchman's unfavourable situation at Stamford Bridge to lure the player to Santiago Bernabeu.

The World Cup winner has a deal with the London club until the summer of 2023 but there are suggestions that the midfielder could leave at the end of this season.

Lampard is hoping he can cash in on the Frenchman to raise funds for his targets this summer, while left with options like Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic, Billy Gilmour, Mason Mount and Ruben Loftus-Cheek in that position.

The Blues legend has also been linked with a move for West Ham's Declan Rice in a big summer raid.

SunSport reports that Real will not spend big this summer due to the economic crisis caused by the outbreak of coronavirus.

But, they might not be able to look the other way on the deal to sign the former Leicester City midfielder who joined the Blues for £29m.

However, his staggering £290,000-a-week pay might cause a little stir for the Spanish League giants as the likes of Sergio Ramos and Co hit out before when the club wanted to sign Paul Pogba on big money.

It would also be recalled that the players were persuaded to take a pay cut in a bid to lower the chances of going bankrupt in the wake of COVID-19.
