Anthony Joshua has extended his hand of help to communities in his ancestral home in Nigeria by donating food items amid the pandemic.

The world heavyweight champion made a 49 seconds video clip of his plans to some communities including the slum in Makoko and in his hometown in Sagamu, Ogun state.

AJ has never shied away from claiming he hails from the West African nation and has taken a step further by donating to the needy during the harsh economic conditions.

The Nigerian-born Brtish heavyweight fighter has occasionally visited the country and has met with the number citizen President Muhammadu Buhari.

Joshua reclaimed his WBO, WBA, IBF and IBO belts in December 2019 from the man who knocked him out in June that same year, Andy Ruiz Jr.

After Tyson Fury's victory over Deontay Wilder in February, there has been calls for a heavyweight title unification showdown between both British champions.

But Joshua would have to scale Kubrat Pulev's hurdle while Fury has to convincingly defeat Wilder in their trilogy fight.
