Breaking: French Ligue 1 champions finally revealed after cancellation of season

Paris-Saint-Germain have reportedly been crowned champions of France for the third time in a row following the decision of the League body to end the season because of coronavirus.

The French Ligue 1 chiefs this week made the decision to cancel the whole 2019/20 season due to the continuous threat of deadly coronavirus which has killed many people in the world.

Government in France made it clear that all football activities in the country must be suspended until September with the hopes that the pandemic will get solution.

Although the League body have not made an official announcement on the latest development, but according to L'Equipe, they confirmed that PSG are the champions.

This is because Paris-Saint-Germain have been topping the League standings for weeks and they were also sure of retaining their title.

The report added that the teams that will be relegated have not been confirmed as the League body will take their time on the decision to be made.

Season's last round of fixtures were played on March 7 and 8, and the final standings see PSG sitting 12 points clear of second-placed Marseille with a game in hand.

Should the League body later comes out with their position that PSG are champions, then it means that they will be winning their ninth title in history.
