How Real Madrid have been king of Europe for 1,000 days

Real Madrid have officially remained champions of Europe for the past 1,000 days and could extend the streak further if they go far in this season's Champions League competition.

Los Blancos have retained the Champions League title since Sergio Ramos lifted the trophy in Milan in 2016.

And until date, Los Merengues have won it in three successive seasons with the help of the former manager Zinedine Zidane.

Since that glorious night in Milan, the Santiago Bernabeu outfit have played 33 matches in the elite competition winning 26, losing and drawing five respectively.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the competition's top scorer in all three run to the European title scoring 16 in 2016, then followed by 12 in 2017 and 15 in 2018.

Madrid had a shaky start to the 2018-19 campaign since Zidane and Ronaldo left the club they seemed to have bounced back defeating Ajax in the last 16 first leg away.
