3 Manchester United players Zinedine Zidane tried to sign while at Real Madrid

Former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane remains the favourite to succeed embattled Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.
He parted ways with the Spanish League giants at the end of last season after leading Los Blancos to three straight Champions League title.

Since then, he has been linked with a move with different clubs which includes Juventus, PSG and a few other clubs.

However, the recent negative activities at Old Trafford pushes the Frenchman as one of the candidates to replace Mourinho at the club.

United were held to a goalless draw by Valencia in the Champions League - which means they have gone four matches without a win.
According to the Mirror, Zidane tried signing goalkeeper David De Gea, Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial for the Galacticos last season.

Zidane succeeded Rafael Benitez in 2016 and in just two and half year - he won three UCL titles and stepped down from the position.

However, the La Liga side after signing Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea didn't mention anything about the French duo of Pogba and Martial.

Man United are currently tenth on the Premier League table at the moment after winning just three out of their first seven games.
They host Newcastle United at Old Trafford this weekend in their EPL encounter and they will hope to return to winning ways after this meeting.
