Zidane makes a call to Mourinho amid Manchester United speculation

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has come to terms with the fact that his employers are getting ready to sack him after getting a call from Zinedine Zidane.
The former Real Madrid manager has been heavily linked to take over from the Portuguese manager after United's poor string of results.

But the Frenchman is worried Mourinho may think he was plotting behind his back that he got in touch.

The 45-year-old revealed all that happened was that his representatives asked if he would be interested in the job.

The message has now convinced Mourinho that the Frenchman's agent are now in possible talks for his managerial position.
The 55-year-old has just a week to save his job and convince chief Ed Woodward he can overturn the current crisis at the club.

The Red Devils will be taking on Valencia in the Champions League and pay a visit to winless Newcastle at St James' Park.

The former Premier League champions' 3-1 defeat at West Ham left them ten points adrift leaders and neighbours Manchester City.
The defeat makes it their worst start to a topflight season after seven games since 1989 and Gary Neville has traced United's woes since David Moyes was sacked in 2014.

Neville tweeted: "This mess started when United sacked Moyes and we lost all sense of the values that the club had been built on.
"It's not the manager, it's the lack of football leadership above him. They are bouncing all over the place with no plan!"
